ABOUT LAING RACING

Laing Racing is all about having fun with family and friends at the races. Oh, winning helps too! The Laing family are all involved and race in the White, tartan crossed sash and cap racing colours. The tartan is Gordon clan tartan descending from Scotland where Arthur Laing Senior was born. Mum is Maltese but she hates the races - mainly because Dad usually comes home with a skin full and annoys her. Arthur Senior started his love for horses as your typical punter and is still today, quite possibly Australia’s worst. He does however, know how to enjoy himself and have a drink or two, This aIement has now been passed onto his unfortunate prodigy - Artie (races well in blinkers), Aaron (carries weight well but doesn’t like being cluttered up, loves the mud) and Andrew (a rig who is constantly on the bit and has been known to windsuck) who have all pulled up lame on more than one occasion.

Over the years the Laing racing has been involved in some ripper horses including Blue Diamond and Coolmore winner Star Witness. Gai Waterhouse classic winners Magic Alibi and Dorf Command (who broke the 35 year old Randwick track Record only to be beaten!), and The Rosebud winner One More Grand. More recently Glenlogan Park Winner, Peace Force and our old buddy Red Excitement who is the winner of 13 races and over 1 million dollars in prize money.

So, if you like a calm, relaxed day out at the races then probably best to go find some other people to do that with……
